Help! Don't Know What To Do. Very Confused About Cccs

Hi, just wanted to see if any one could answer a question for me. I got myself into a bit of a mess with money,im 21 and about £19000 in debt through various cards and loans.

i decided today after reading some tips on here that i would visit the CCCS website. i filled in the form and they think that i should be free of debbt in 4 years 11months which i think is really quick!!

BUT i have to pay them £313 a month on the 1st of every month, but i haven't got this at the moment,so i don't know what to do, i get paid weekly so i need to save for a couple weeks to get that money to stat without paying anyone.

How long do i have before i have to start paying??
Does anyone have any experience with how this works??
Because i really want to be free of my debt.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
Kelly

I would suggest that you ask cccs these questions as I am sure they get asked them all the time.

But I think what they suggest is that you write to all your creditors saying that CCCS will be taking over and enclose 1 pound as token payment.
But CCCs will know for definite

    Hi Kelly,
As Chev says, call CCCS. It usually takes a m onth or 2 to get your DMP up and running and in the meantime, call all creditors, send token payments and batten down the hatches for the first few moths of phone calls and letters. I've been on my DMP for just over a year and it's wonderful.

Have you scheduled an appointment to speak to someone at CCCS? There's obviously that form on the site, but they usually want to book a proper session with you to go through everything with you. They'll send you loads of info - (budgeting sheets etc), and then they'll look at that and work out exactly how much you should send them.

However you're paid, I'm sure they can take that into account (infact, I'm fairly certain it was one of the questions they asked me when I originally joined up with them).

    Good luck!
