Hi,

ust applied for a mortgage with the woolwich, and have been warned that they take AGES to process it.

What timescale and problems have other people had??

It took about 6 weeks to do ours from what I remember. Pretty happy with the service as it just involved one visit to bank and the rest happened via the post. One thing to check if you are using 'their' solicitors is that the amount of monies advanced to the solicitor on your first statement from the Woolwich is the same as on the solicitors paperwork that they send to you.
My Woolwich paperwork said : Monies advanced £XXX + £495 (arrangement fees) The solicitors paerwork showed monies received as £XXX. It took nearly three weeks of each blaming the other before I finally got it back.

hi, i used to work for woolwich. they can take a while (the longest i heard of was 3 months) but it all depends on how quick the paperwork goes through.

We`ve just received our mortgage offer from Woolwich and our solicitor has received the formal mortgage instruction .

Took approx 6 - 8 weeks but we were never in a hurry as we knew 6 months ago that our new house was ready for handover 23.3.07

We`ve never visited a branch and everything was done via telephone in a polite , professional manner - really could not fault them at all
