Line of Duty Injury tax break question NYC

on my w-2 in box 14 i have a Line of duty injury reported.

my question is how is the LODI claimed?
has it been adjusted already on my wages or do i have to claim the tax break when filing for my NYS return.
i don't think i can claim federal for LOD.

This is a UK site so you're unlikely to get any advise I'm afraid. Best bet would be to talk to your veterans organisation (American Legion iirc?).
