Accepting a Full and Final - double checking letter from DCA

Options
I'm just about to agree a full and final settlement with a DCA, I think they are keen to get it done today so she can add it this month's figures!

She has just emailed me through a letter, on their headed paper with the following wording:

We are pleased to confirm that we have agreed to accept £xxxx as full and final settlement, to be paid no later than 30th November 2011.

Once the payment has cleared, we shall immediately update our records to write off any remaining balance and update the Credit Reference Bureaux to mark that your account has been satisfied with us. We can also confirm that once your account has been settled, XXX, its agents, or subsidiary companies will not take any further action to recover or enforce the debt.

Apologies for any typos in the above, I'm just really keen to see the back of this. Does the wording sound sufficient? It does to me, but I'm sure there may be things I'm missing. I do have the funds available to give them tonight.

yes its fine as confirms once your account has been settled, XXX, its agents, or subsidiary companies will not take any further action to recover or enforce the debt.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Thank you for that, I did have a bit of a mooch around the boards too, and worked out it was sufficient.

I'm thrilled to say that I have negotiated with them to a full and final settlement of £1600 on a debt of £3280!!!
