Need to work out annual leave :S help please.

I am on a care agency aside from my main job and have just put the day I have accrued for annual leave in. I need to know how much I will be paid.

My shifts on agency are anywhere from 4-14 hours per shift. At £7 an hour. So how many hours should I be paid for that dayI have put in annual leave? the whole 14 or the average (7).

Help please

where you don't work standard days then holiday would be calculated in hours, how many hours are you having to use to have the holiday?

I am just putting the holiday in to get rid of it as I don't need it and don't want to lose it.

I don't get your question because I am having to use 24 hours for the holiday (1 day) it isn't put in hours

You need to ask your employer how they calculate holiday and how they pay it.

this can be checked to see if it is correct..

No one can know how your employer does holidays.

Where there is no regular hours the employer is most likely to use a 12 week average to calculate your daily rate
  • Also remember that some care agencies do not give paid holidays if you are on a zero hour contract. Instead, they pay you a proportion of your wage as holiday pay. It is, I think 12.07%, and should be listed as such on your payslip. However, in reality, many agencies who pay holidays in this way do not list separately. Check your contract.
