Can't give the money away!

Hi, i have been trying to pay off my creditors through their collection agencies, offering them a reduced settlement. I am about to lose my job and wrote to them with a final offer which some have agreed. When I asked would this be a full and final settlement they said no,only partially satisfied. When I asked would the original lender persue me for the balance they refused to say. I have spent all day on the phone to LTSB trying to find out if they will persue for any money outstanding but nobody will say. I requested a letter confirming that the account would be closed on receipt of payment but still no definite answer and wont send any letter until I've paid, so no guarantees.What do I do, I cant seem to give my money away!! Im dreading getting my phone bill now, absolutely rediculous!

Hope someone can give some advice.. i have read this on other threads and seen that after a few months and offering again they have accepted.
