To go into the other side of the financials.
How many people were involved - and how long were they there for?
    What trades?
    Thanks!

sounds you had a busy day dan. Scaffolders, roofers pulling roof apart electrician here there and every where. If it was anything like my fit you couldnt keep track of them all. Watching a bloke pushing a invertor (30Kg) through a 18inch loft hole was fun to watch, particularly when he wasnt wearing a belt to keep his pants up. hehe something that stays in your mind.

Scafforder was subed out - 2 of them. 2 hours works :) Main installer & son were qualified Sparks, they had 1 "mate"

    I was impressed....

So 8am to 9am 2 guys on site
    9am - 10am 5 guys on site
    10am - 3:30pm 3 Guys on site
    3:30 to 4:30 - 2 guys

The Old man did the roof space work, whoch was not too much, that the lads did the outsite

The micro invertors are on the railings on the roof, each one is about 8inch by 6inch that made life easier....

With microinverter on every panel the chance of a failure somewhere is greater, and then, a problem of access... I'm glad my Sunnyboy is accessible; also its waste heat warms my house :)

....it's rarely too warm in Scotland :)

Not necessarily as the the individual micro-inverters are claimed to have higher reliability (greater MTBF) than grid tie.

Also if a single panel or inverter goes down it does not take out the whole system.

.... and better at optimising if there is partial shading as each panel is controlled individually.

So it may work out more reliable and/or more efficient as an overall system (but difficult to predict accurately).

OK, fair enough. It's a pretty complex issue; real skill required in designing the best system for a gven house.
