Hi All,
It's been several months since I last posted on here, but something happened a few days ago and I'm so happy!!
For 2 years I've been struggling with a £15000 debt following my wedding and various other purchases, I always made minimum payments but I had nothing much left at the end of each month. With the advice on here I changed my "minimum payment" direct debit to a fixed standing order to take advantage of the snowball effect, but even though I could see this working i still couldn't see the end!
BUT
I've just had to move house due to relocation with work, which set us back a bit again, so whilst in the bank changing my details over, they asked if they could help with anything else I made a joke about a-helping unpack :-)
and b- lending me some money to pay off my debts.
Here was the great moment, they asked if i wanted to apply for the said loan, I thought it'll be declined but hey i've nothing to lose trying, so in went the application and it returned with a Big Fat YES!!!
SO, all my debts are now cleared (apart from this new loan which is alot more affordable, and alot less interest), and in 5.5 years time i'll be debt free!!!!
Life is back on track!
The credit cards are now closed and I've reduced my overdraft limit to £300 (interest free limit) for a safety net!
Although i'm more of a reader than a poster I just want to offer my thanks to all the help and advice i've got from this site.
