Hello Everyone, newbie here...
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section...
I had my Lightbulb moment a few days ago, which was scary, but strangely a relief too. Anyway, I'm currently in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS.
Would anyone like to recommend to me who I should set a new bank account up with? I currently bank with Natwest, but as they are going to be in my DMP I obviously need to find somewhere else. I just don't know who to go with... I'd like something a bit more than a basic bank account, but I don't know if that's the right thing do? I'm a bit naive! Any advice would be greatly received.
Thankyou.

I've gone for a co-op cashminder so that I still get a debit card. Not sure if it's the best one but was very easy to open. Just waiting on the paperwork to come through now.SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

Aargh - lost post as logged out!
Co-op cashminder is a basic account but has a debit card (Visa) - fine for most transacitons.
No overdraft facility and no cheque book but TBH I would expect you would have difficulties in opening another standard current account if you are about to enter a DMP.
There is a full list somewhere of basic accounts - possibley a link to a CCCS list..
Anyone able to help?0 -
We too are just setting up a dmp with cccs and have opened a santander account. We will get a cheque book and a debit card. They have even given us an overdraft although obviously we will ask them to remove that. its their normal current account and they also give cashback in 3 months time, the amount depends on if you have other accounts with them. We will get £200 as we have our mortgage with them.
