Plus, it makes the comment that the girl on the till said even more bizarre. Why is the coat 'non-returnable'? Is it just that coat? All coats? Coats and leads?
I presume because he couldn't reach the lock on the fitting room door.
Let's face it, even a dogs modesty should be respected. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Cool. Thanks again. I'll go in at lunch time. I'm a pretty regular customer anyway but it's a small business so can't be sure what they'll say. It's always good to know where i stand legally.
It doesn't matter what size they are, they still have to follow the law, like everybody else. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Not only is it misleading, but she should not even say it, really. If they had a sign up to that effect, they would be breaking the law:

Aye but that can also happen just by taking your dog into the pet store in the first place - let alone what your dog may catch from being in there.

OK went back to the shop and spoke to the owner who had measured the dog up for the jacket. Told her it unfortunately didn't fit. She said it's non returnable. I said my consumer rights said otherwise and because it wasn't fit for purpose i could return it.
Conversation went like this:
Shopkeer: "But i measured the dog and i measured the jacket and it was correct"
Me: "I know you did, but it doesn't fit, it's not even close"
Shopkeeper: "It can't not fit, i measured it"
Me: "I'm telling you it doesn't fit, i wouldn't be back asking for another jacket if it did!"
Shopkeeper: "let me measure it again"
Me: "Ok, but that won't make it magically fit"
Shopkeeper measures and says: "See i got my measurements right and it should fit your dog fine"
Me (getting pretty p'd off by this point): "Honestly, it doesn't fit (grrrr!) i wouldn't be here if it fits, it doesn't, i'll bring in the dog and you can see for yourself"
So left it at that. I'll take the dog in on Saturday and she can see for herself. I even said i'm not looking for a refund, just another jacket that fits!0 -
Not trying to be funny but don't dogs come with a 'built-in' coat? I know my cat did.0

They do have natural coats but the weather isnt like it used to be
Summers get hotter and winters get colder. I know my parents dog likes to at least keep warm as she regularly lies in front of the fire and during winter, she wont stay outside longer than 5 minutes without a coat on.
If you go outside with a coat on, does that mean that you dont feel the cold ever, regardless of how cold it actually is? Or if its absolutely freezing, are you still likely to get a bit chilly?
