Christmas staff

Just a quick question hope somebody can offer some advice/help.

I got offered a temporary christmas job over 3 weeks ago now, and still waiting for start date.

I am applying like crazy for other positions as i hold no hope for the above job.

My question is though with christmas coming in thick and fast, if i do manage to find another job before then, do these jobs pay weekly?
Simply cannot bare the thought of christmas with no cash coming in.

Don't really want to grab the violins out but i have already just recently lost my fiance to this failure of been able to secure a job. Which aint great but i am not giving up!

My problem seems to be I slip through the net, in my year of being unemployed I have now been offered 4 jobs, which have resulted in nothing! Starting to loose my faith, confidence, and pride.

** Just to add to my problem of slipping through the net, I now include a free KitKat with all my C.V's sent, with a piece of paper "Give me a break" to try stand out from the rest, or at least make them remember me.**

Thanking you in advance!

  • I had something similar with Next when I got offered a Christmas temp job and received no start date - basically I just kept going in and asking them to confirm it! (probably about 3 times in total) It worked in the end!

ETA: Just to say, how they pay will probably depend on the company - I don't think anyone can give you a yes or no answer to that.

this job came about as I was forwarded from the job center to action for employment lot. A4E, so I have no direct contact with the employees themselfs ( Poundworld  got to get back on the ladder somehow! )

I am on to my adviser every day, ( I am sure she starting to ignore me now ) but apparently they only start people on a weather basis?!?! So if the weather is bad more people are likely to shop hence I will receive a start date? I don't think it has stopped raining in the 3 weeks of waiting! haha hence my reasoning of giving up hope on the job.
