A dose of reality on house prices

If we compare conditions during the price boom between 2000 and 2007 to the current litany of economic challenges, we must accept that it will be a long, hard struggle to regain 2007 levels.

Mention house prices and you are sure to start a lively conversation. With 67% of the population owning their home and with a substantial piece of their savings tied into home ownership, it is no wonder.

    Good article .... complete bollox, of course, but well written.

  • Pretty obvious I would have thought that it will be a few years before we regain 2007 price levels. This is because we have had a price crash and are now bumping along the bottom with stagnating nominal price levels. But eventually prices will start to climb an we will surpass the levels of 2007.


    A better question might be. Will we ever regain the 'real terms 2007 peak levels'. In fact I think I will start a thread.
