Fraud would be to apply for a card using someone elses signature - getting a card and letting someone else use it is just... well silly in my view. The debt legally will always be yours, unless they can prove a written intent to repay and want to pursue it through court and a CCJ...
Contacting the CC companies "in the mothers name" unless with the agreement and genuine signature of the mother WOULD be fraud... OP definitely do NOT do this.
Thinking about it again, I agree, maybe not fraudulent, however, highly foolish.
I wasn't suggesting the OP forge her mother's signature, just doing the legwork for her mum, and asking her to sign them.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

OK first of all we need to make sure you are definitely getting everything you are entitled to - unfortunately the usual calculator is down at the moment but keep an eye on it: Entitled to
You can possibly cut back a little on your groceries too - meal planning and contacting local food banks might help you here.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I guess since i am laying everything on the line I should say that the only person getting done for fraud would be me! The second card was applied for online by me with my mothers consent but she never signed anything. All the payments for this card come out of my bank account and she has threatened me with the police if I don't pay. She has me exactly where she wants me! Like I said in my original post I know this cant be solved I just need some support in my darker moments and today is turning into one of those times!0 -
OP assuming your LHA covers your rent in full, that means that £838 pcm benefit - £362 LHA = £476 other benefits? £110 per week? That does not sound right to me for 2 adults, but I do not know how sickness benefits work, someone who knows more should be here soon!0

My food bill is rarely that much but I thought i would put it down as a rough figure. My Aunts lunches alone cost me £11.50 per week I only buy reduced food or stuff on offer or value products, I frequently go without food for a few days.
I had my benefits checked by the local carers group and I am getting everything we are entitled too. I pay an overpayment out of my benefits and my aunt pays council tax (water charge) out of hers. £200 a month mobility benefit goes to pay for the pretty car that sits in the drive apart from 2 ten minute journeys a day to take my aunt to daycare!0 -
Your mother sounds like a bully iyam.
As for going to the Police you can always point out to her that she could be wasting their time especially since your mother sends you text messages when payments are due so she is fully aware of what is happening and hasn't 'only just discovered'.
Why isn't your mother helping your aunt anyway?Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

can you change your mobile phone bill? either to pay as you go or sim only
also your grocerie budget could possibly be haved aslong as your aunt has no special requirements, i spend £200 a month on 5 of us however it takes alot of my time to go shopping late at night and cook from scratch which is time you might not have.
Does your dd have to go to nursery if your home all day, i know your caring for your aunt but might be better for awhile if she stayed with you til she's entitled to a free place
this could be easier solved if your mother was willing to play ball, however she's also prob worried about being lumbered with your debt and a bad credit rating and doesn't wanna risk upping the amount owed with a loan, i personally would never get a loan for anyone, we do help anyone we can when ever we can but when moneys involved we only give what we can afford to lose
i know you said you need the car and it's not worth gettinga cheaper one, but you just said it only does a 2minute journey, there are taxi services for this (wheelchairs clamps and have ramps ect) which could work out cheaper in the long run, even if it's only short termDEC GC £463.67/£450
