I recently bought a Archos 7 home tablet, and I am having trouble trying to download apps. The device runs on android 2.1, and the apps store is called appslib, but when I try to open up apps lib, I just get 1 app with is a mass updater, and a message saying apps lib needs to update to the newer version before it can be used.
When I tried to install the update it won’t let me, just says “cannot install apps lib on this phone”
Can anyone help?

The servers at applib have been down for the last few days i was trying to download arctools for my archos 101 and daughters archos700

Yes we had the same problem, took our daughters archos 101 back today and got a refund. Awful system, would rather pay the extra and get something better!0

I just tried my Archos 7c and I'm getting a server error as well.
If you want something new to mess with over the holiday then the Slideme market works well with Archos although you'll find some apps it lets you download just don't work most are fine.
IIRC you just download and install their market app using the browser and clicking on the downloaded apk.

No if you download the update from archos then arctools from arctablet you then increase the CPU speed on the unit you have full access to Android market you won't get a much better unit for the money0 -
When I last looked Arctools didn't work with the 7 series of tablets.
Checking again it still doesn't say it will work with the 7 tablet(s).It is compatible with all Archos Internet Tablets (models 101/70/43/32/28) running Android 2.1 (Eclair) or 2.2.1 (Froyo) firmwares: 2.0.54, 2.0.71 and 2.1.x
You can install alternate roms which include the android market but all the ones I tried were pretty unstable and the advantage of the market was offset by the hangs and reboots.0 -
the question i quoted and answered was regarding the archos 101 which is supported0

I have had the same problem with a Archos 10 G2 purchased for my partner and the store I purchased from basically said appslib site was just overloaded as xmas and to be patient. Do not really want to get a refund as like the tablet but it is driving my partner crazy!!!0
