Hello,
I am getting confused with when debt gets 'wiped' off your credit rating.
Please can someone let me know when the below will vanish and no longer exist on my credit rating?
Thanks in advance. :j

2. ‘Satisfied’ - 31/07/2010
3. ‘Settled’ 28/08/2010

I believe its 6 years these stay on your file, but I'm sure if I am wrong, someone will post!0 -
They will drop off six years from the default date paid or not.
Mine Defaulted On: 10/07/2006 and will fall off 10/07/2012I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
Thanks all. Will be interesting to see if my credit rating improves just a tad when the 2 drop off in December! :-)9 years and counting0

When 2 of my defaults dropped off recently it didn't improve my credit rating. There are still 3 shown on my file, due to come off next October, all settled.0

Is it only 1 and 2 that had defaults? If so then its unlikely that the others dropping off will make much difference to your ability to get credit.
If they have defaults they are cleared 6years after the default (so 1 & 2 won't be 6yrs from the satisfied date but from the original default). For the ones with no default its 6years from the date they were settled.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
