What sort of jobs are best if you only want to do one day a week?

            Check G4S' website.
They do the stewarding at football matches and concerts etc.
It's mostly weekend work aside from summer when you get asked to do the festivals....and that's the best part they 'ask'. No fixed hours, every event they'll ask what you can work in the week ahead and if you can't they'll phone you before the next round.
This is just from my experience in one division in one part of the country.

            Supermarket sounds good. Do they set people on for just 1 day a week?
My contract does say not to have a 2nd job without permission, but they know I am on agency because I got my job through agency.

You'd have to make it very clear that you were only available for limited hours, and from other threads it seems that they're not always very good at sticking to the limits you set. It's understandable from their POV, they offer people just a few hours each week so that they can retain maximum flexibility and also so that holiday pay is only due on those limited hours, but then they seem to expect that people will actually be able to work whatever hours they say.BrettMorganxD wrote: »Supermarket sounds good. Permission shouldn't be unreasonably refused. It would be reasonable to say that a full-time lorry driver couldn't have another driving job, because of the limits on the hours they can drive. It could be reasonable to say that if you're working for an estate agent, you can't work for another estate agent as you might poach customers. They might not, but if you ever accidentally mention it, or have to ask for time off for training on Job 2 and they don't want to give it so demand to know your reason and you let it slip - they'd know then, and the fact that you hadn't asked could lead to dismissal, especially if they wanted to get rid of you anyway.BrettMorganxD wrote: »How would my company even notice if I had a second job?Signature removed for peace of mind0 - 
            Or - tbh - and we have had this discussion before on a previous thread - if you are so bloody tired working every day of the week and all hours of the day, that you make a bloody stupid mistake at work! You may be able to evade the WTD by accumulating employers, but there is a reason why the law attempts to limit working hours. It is because tired people damage themselves and others.0
