Hello Money! Goodbye Muffins!

Options
I've been lurking a while and thought it was time to start my own diary.

My situation is that I have approx £3000 of debt, which although not a lot compared to some is about £3000 more than I want. We have a good family income but this just seems to dissappear and I don't know where it goes ( I can feel a spending diary coming on). So my main aim is to get rid of the debt and learn to save instead of spending everything we have and some.

My other aim is to lose weight so thought I may as well combine them both in the same diary. I suppose I could always stop eating and save on the grocery bill ;).

So my aims are:

Pay off £3000 debt
Lose 35lbs weight

Both the above amounts are estimates so will be updating signature with exact figures later today. Scary stuff
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

  • Not sure if a diary is best place to ask questions or if there is another board I should post in but I am after some tips on losing weight while trying to save money. In past when try to lose weight seem to lose £'s and gain lbs instead. Whereas when trying to save money on food tend to end up buying cheap unhealthy foods, i.e. lots of mince, sausages, etc which also leads to weight gain. At least one thing is consistent.

I haven't really got going with money saving just yet, full of cold at moment so can't be bothered to get organised. Hopefully when I'm feeling better in a couple of days can get cracking properly.

Just busy looking for outfit ideas for daughters christmas play at mo. They couldn't have made it simple and had a nativity could they? No, they have to do children from around the world and my daughters class have to go as polish children. I have no idea what to do, don't want to spend too much money (even if I could find something suitable) but nothing really springs to mind and google searches aren't helping. Now wishing daughter was in year above as they are doing chinese children which would have been so much easier. I have no idea what traditional polish children wear. Lets hope they go back to bog standard nativity next year so I can but something off the peg. Feeling very uncultured and ignorant at the mo.
