This is very much like this comp but is a new comp :-)

Terms and conditions

1. The promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding people working for Post Office Ltd as employees and anyone professionally connected with this promotion. 2. There is no purchase requirement to enter. Merely go to https://competitionbox.net/500-pounds-post-office-travel-money and fully complete the entry form. One entry per person. 3. All entries must be received between 28th November 2011 and 26th February 2012. Entries received outside of this period will not be accepted. 4. Incomplete, illegible or incorrectly completed online forms will not be accepted as entry into the promotion. 5. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are not received for any reason. 6. The Prize: there are 4 prizes to be given away. Each prize consists of £500 travel money from Post Office. The travel money will be provided in the currency of each winner's choosing. 7. The Prize is non-transferable. 8. The Winner: there will be 4 winners who will be chosen at random on Monday 27th February 2012 from all valid entries

Does seem a bit pointless but hey-ho.A few sites ask this including the Johnston Press sites.

more worried when DoB 'required'.. apart from age restricted items (drink, gambling sites etc).

Just checked the T&C of this and it states

3. All entries must be received between 28th November 2011 and 19th February 2012

8. The Winner: there will be 4 winners who will be chosen at random on Monday 20th February 2012 from all valid entries

The t&c may have been changed since the op

We all know none of these companies do these comps out of the goodness of their own hearts.

If you think about it, they are asking us to select our desired currency so it makes sense for them to want to know details like our ages. Probably helps with future marketing. Cheaper than them running focus groups and if half of us saw the word survey we'd run a mile.:D
