Hi,
I'm looking to get my girlfriend some flowers delivered for valentines day. Any advice if there are codes available for interflora or other sites for a discount on this, as it can be quite expensive to have them delivered? Or a site that is pretty cheap to order from?
Thanks

Re: They are not available Valentines Week/End! You have to choose them from their more expensive Valentines Range!!!! Typical!
As someone involved in floristry please be assured that in the main (I'm not silly enough to think it's all perfect) the only reason red flower prices go up is that literally the world and his friend are saying I love you at the same time which means London, New York, Sydney, Moscow, Tokyo and ALL points inbetween are trying to buy the same flowers. Sadly there just aren't enough to go round and so the price goes up as a result of supply and demand.
Most good independent florists will try to absorb as much of the rise as they can which is why it is always better to ring a florist direct rather than go through a call centre operation like Teleflorist, Interfone, Interflora etc as they take a commission (between 22 and 32%) which obviously can reduce the amount of money available for your special gift as the florists making the order can't easily absorb that sort of percentage.
However if you are going to ring a florist directly - and it shouldn't take any longer than using a call centre and you'll know who you are dealing with - make sure you really are talking to a real florist as there are some unscrupulous companies out there who simply buy listings all over the country of directories like Yell pretending to be real shops but again are nothing more than a call centre who takes the order and passes it on minus their cut.
There is a trade association call british florists association who can direct you to one of their members (https://www.britishfloristassociation.org) or theres a website called https://www.masterfloristdirect.com which lists all the real florists in the UK.
And don't always think red roses alone. Red tuilips, funky feathery edged carnations or slightly rude looking, heart shaped anthuriums are just as gorgeous and often less expensive. Alterntively ask for a Sweetheart bouquet ...a collection of mixed flowers with one stunning rose in the middle.
Dealing direct isn't a saving in the classic terms of this site (ie no coupon code etc) but I know you will get more for your money if you talk to a real florist and your special person will get a much better LUURVE message as a result.

Don't forget quidco - often save as much as a code for free postage etc, and this way, you can be sure of the flowers you're getting..... :T

Tried the above code for a single "Happy Rose" but it does not reduce the price any. Code REC1 will knock 15% (£3) off it though...Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
