When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Morning everyone!

About to be running late but need to start the day right!

Today I will:
Check banks
Check TCB
Check CC
Check Paypal
Check Ebay
Open Non Paying Bidder dispute
Food from stores - sweet potato cottage pie for lunch, nom nom!
Get OH to pick up freezer bags for food for work
Car sharing to work - drive economically
Update MS Money
Post test item
Work Hard
Sparkle!

Prob others but that's the bulk!

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone:) KJP-Sorry, i forgot to congratulate you on passing your exams, so well done!
LPP- I hope you feel better soon!

Well after a NSD weekend, i still have a pound left in my bag even after my extravagant 1.95 spend on a sprite on Friday in yates:DThe free curry was very nice and really filling, lol.

Today, i'm going to shift some money from saving to clear card to my current account to pay bills till payday:o(i really hate the robbing peter to pay paul syndrome)! But, will put it back on payday.

I'm also writing down everything i spend and am adamant not to have anything on my CC statement next month apart from my monthly shop. Also i'm going to get my son to list my ebay items-this first listing is taking me for ever, lol.

    Good luck everyone!:)

    Good morning everyone!

Well I finally put things on ebay yesterday, first time ever selling on ebay!

So today I shall be checking listings
Food from stores (apart from mince which DH needs to buy from the butchers)
    Charging my phone at work
Need to get to the bank and put in DH's cash to bring us out the overdraft :o

    That's all for today :-)
Can't think of anything smart to put here...
  • Hello all!

Thanks for starting us, KJP, good luck with your dispute!
Look at you and your high dollar items Tebhag! Good luck getting a good price for them.

Today started off really badly - we had the most insane thunderstorm last night (loudest thunder I've ever heard, trees falling, etc) so didnt get much sleep. Once I finally did fall asleep my alarm didn't go off as my phone had died due to lack of power (we have horrible load shedding - its causing riots), and I overslept. I woke up exactly at 9 and had to get dressed and out the door almost instantly, only to find that my bike was so cold that it didnt want to get up the flooded hill! Anyway finally got to work (muddy and wet by this point) and have somehow gotten through the morning.

    Anyway, onwards and upwards today:
    • drove to work (once I got the stubborn thing awake)
    • got bought my morning coffee and croissant by a colleague with an early meeting , aw!
    • lunch provided by work
    • work out from boy whats happening for dinner - we may have to meet someone out, otherwise I'll go buy bits for soup
    • check banking - very tight before payday here!
    • check on puppy as he had a bit of a reaction on an anitbiotic the dr gave him, looked much better yesterday though
    • catch up with people by email instead of by phone

    happy monday everyone

Hello all didnt' get on over weeknd - bit crazy with the weather here - kinda made me think of other thing, like keeping warm! Thank you for the thread KJP and hello to you lovely lot!

    Today.....................I've got to

    Bank to check and cc
Pack and post an ebay repeat sale - yay
Try and get budget in a way that the tax office will let me talk to them - I tried to tell her I needed to do it now and she assured me she wouldn't want me to do it until another day as I wouldn't have all the information - doh I've a budget saved on martin's budget brain - doh! DONE!
Money into bank from pressie stash for old manager cos I've paid for her one on my cc
Must print a payment for a flight for a meeting tomorrow - get that back and into the bank
    Post mail for OH
Find the council tax bill thingmy and pay it today or tomorrow or pay it online
    HM dinner and tea
Looks like the call to the tax office has stuffed going to yoga but I'll walk the dog instead
Get into town later and meet dd for parent night = combine with doing anything I need in town and drive economically :)
Probably do a bit on the internet here for womble job and bag a couple needed hours of paperwork - report to finish and a banking thing to do and a few emails
Got a bit to do for the garden society community growing meeting tonight and an email to compose for a funding thing - and email polytunnel folk for a quote
HC wavhing on the now and need hung up in a bit - and then do another one!
Check about invigilating next week and write it in my diary - I forwarded the timetable back to the man organising it - check email
Check about insurance for the womble job for my own liability - email them rather than call them
Do a plan for the slow food thingmy and email a lady rather than call her
Find out why my ipad thinks it hasn't got a sim in it
Organise tea before I go out I'm out at parents night then in to drop off dd and then off to a meeting at 7.30

    I need a cuppa................
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
