fading a soft toy....

Hi guy's no idea where to post this but i am sure one of you can help me 
My little man (3 in a week is currentley in hospital at the moment he has had a prety serious op on his skull... and is in a pain and very fed up... so we decided he could have one of his christmas present early....
Numberjack number 3 toy (the thing he has been asking for for months!!)
Now to the problem.....
On the telly number 3 is a pinky colour... the soft toy is deffinatley more RED than pink... this has made him NOT HAPPY.
Is there anything i can do the 'fade' the toy to a more pinky colour? ..
