I've bought cheap light sets from places like Poundstretcher before now. Supermarkets have light sets too. But, I have found that buying cheaper sets means the cables are short and the bulbs are tiny and not as bright as some of the better sets you can get. For more impressive looking lights, I'd try B&Q.
They usually have some sort of BOGOF or 3 for 2 on them aswell, so look out for that.

You'll probably start seeing the christmas lights going on sale soon, I suppose by 1st december. seems to me I remember B&Q having their lights half off last year in the beginning of december... I'm hoping they do that this year, as we are holding off buying a string of lights that we'd like to get until they go on sale.

:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:
  • Homebase have a lot, if not all their lights at half price at the moment, they seem to do this every year at this time, which makes me wonder just how overpriced they are in the first place:mad: B&Q are likely to follow suit, if they haven't already, Wilkinsons may too, but they don't seem to have that much choice this year, maybe that's just me though. All three have websites, so I would take a look there first before you set off.
  • we have a ski slope thing in the garden which is big and i got it yrs ago from argos but its old now need a change lol
