Well done, the cushion is lovely!

A lovely friend has sent me some easy patterns so I am hoping to do some clothing projects now and expand my horizons!

Jps cloud that will be lovely, love the materials. My quilt is a bit like that, alternate 9 patch squares and plain black squares. Have just finished it so will do photographs tomorrow. Happy Sewing:)

Really looking forward to seeing your quilt miffy... I'm still cutting out for mine, and will be out tomorrow so may not get much done. I've got new project fever on this one, I really want to just get on with it!

Hi miffy I can see your account but I don't think you've uploaded the photos sucessfully yet - at least it's not showing me any.

I'm going to have a few hours on my new project tonight - almost finished cutting out :D

Well I'm into the piecing stage now, putting blocks together. My machine (a new at Christmas Bush 24 stitch) keeps losing the top thread and jamming the thread in the hook race. I can sew one 4 and a half inch side of a block, then on the next one off goes the thread.

It was doing this all the time I was piecing the last cushion I made too but I thought that might be because it was denim.

Any advice out there? I suppose it might be a tension thing.

It could be the tension. I had trouble with my old machine like that once and it was because I didn't have it threaded up correctly. If you've not checked this go back to your manual and make sure it's correct, often it looks ok but is not quite right. Have you also checked there is no lint stuck in the bobbin race. Hope you get it sorted, I get so mad when mine won't sew properly. Have started cutting out blocks for my next quilt. I'm making a playmat for a friend's new grandchild who is due in about a week. I'm using materials from my stash as I must stop buying fabric:eek:
    Happy Sewing.:)

I can see the pics now miffy - and WOW! What a fantastic quilt, I love your fabrics too. I can't believe that's your first ever quilt, it looks so professional :T
I'm really looking forward to getting to the actual quilting part, which I haven't tried yet. I can't use a thimble, but I might have to try and make myself use one - do you use one?

Thanks also for the advice re the machine. I'll get the manual out and try threading from scratch again tomorrow.
