Although I speak to people who sign a 5 year agreement and after 3 years decide that they've been paying long enough! If its definitely not an agreement that you don't owe money on I'd simply pass the DCA's details and correspondance on to a solicitor, trading standards and the police.

I guess poeple don't complain becasue they may not know who to complain to, but mainly because if they know they don't owe the money, they think they have nothing to worry about once the situation has been explained.

I watched this and was appalled when it was mentioned that they send the same letter about the same debt to as many people as possible with the same name in the hope that they get the right person!

As well as the things mentioned above, I also think people don't complain because when you're bullied like that you don't want to have to deal with yet another company who might not see things your way.

Of all the debt collection agency there has only been 1 company who has been briliant. I have never lost my temper and always been truthful with them and still get knocked back.
