Credit Score

Hi Can any one tell me why my credit score with experian is 889 Good, and equifax is 280 Poor ?
Only reason i looked at equifax is that i applied for a John Lewis Credit card and it was turned down, and on doing some research found that they only use equifax to calculate risk on lending.
Its a bit anoying that the differance can be so big as i do have a few defaults on my report but have been building up a better credit rateing purley on the information on experian, I thought i was doing well until i applied for the 30 day free trail on equifax

Some lenders provide information to each, some to only one, it may be that one negative factor has been reported to them and not the other, or that all of your accounts are not listed on the lower scoring site so it thinks you have had less finance. It may also just be that they score differently.
You need to play spot the difference first though!. HTH0
