I do wonder why the UK has not tried to emulate the Swiss. I would have thought that geographically we are idealy placed to run that type of economy. Our politicians though seem to be more interested on grandstanding all over the world because it makes them seem more important.0 -
I think you will find that the average Swiss person is a lot better educated, speaks at least three languages, lives in a close knit society and there are less than 8 million of them to support.
(The Swiss unemployed live in Turkey).
Bit short on natural resources though - historically kept home together and population under control by hiring out sons as mercenries.0
