Collecting our new used car on Monday and just wondering about taxing it and registering it. Can it be done over the phone or do we need to go up to the tax office in Belfast? Many thanks.

By person or post, the seller should give you a registration document that you need to use. Can you not do without it for a couple of days and tax it from 1st Dec?

Better safe than sorry. These ANR cameras that are springing up on roads all across the province, check the Registration No. against Tax and Insurance databases.0
