What triggers the the issue at the till of a £6 off for a £40 spend voucher? Do they put these out randomly or is it a periodic offer? Is there any way of knowing about these before arriving at the till?
If we know in advance then we could split the shopping into 2 baskets, use the voucher from the 1st with the 2nd and gain another voucher on the 2nd!

I haven't noticed anything in particular, obviously sometimes there's the 'spend £50 get 5p of every litre of petrol' and last week we had 'spend £40 get £5 of your £40 shop next week' but such offers as £6 off £40 up to as large as £12 off £80 or something pop out and I'm not sure if it's a specific item the customers buy I don't think it is, maybe it's something to do with what the clubcard notices like how much you spend if you spend a lot you get a larger voucher maybe?
I'd bet it being random tbh, when I do the weekly shop we never get any vouchers out of the receipt machine unless there's a petrol offer on, but I can be giving them out all morning beforehand! Best Wins:

I think their strategy is to try to encourage you to become a regular shopper. I was an infrequent visitor to Tesco, went for a change as I had a Mail £5 MOC and was given a £7 off £50 spend coupon. I then went along to Tesco the next week and again was given a £7 off £50 MOC. This continued for another six weeks or so until Tesco had convinced themselves I had become a regular and the MOCs stopped. Since then I have just had one more £7 coupon which appeared completely out of the blue a fortnight ago.0
