Stumbled upon http://www.grabagreatdeal.com/ whilst looking for online deal sites other than HUKD. Has anyone seen or heard of this site?

  • I normally use HUKD to find deals and noticed this site was mentioned on Twitter so I went in for a look. Seems nice enough but apparently it has just launched and so there's not much on it yet. Will keep an eye on it.

It's almost a straight copy of Hot Uk Deals except that the 'deals' appear to have to been provided by the site admin. They've probably been copied from elsewhere and the percentage rating for each entry is obviously made up because there's no independent user input.

I should point out that Hot Uk Deals and Money Saving Expert make a tidy sum of money from user referral links. This site is jumping on that bandwagon, but on the cheap.

It is similar to Hot UK Deals but it's not a straight copy - just the concept is the same. Apple/Android, Hotmail/Gmail, PC/Mac...

If only one type of any product existed, it would be a dull world! Life's all about choice which is why I was looking around for an alternative in the first place.

You can't really criticise them for putting deals on themselves as the website actually says they've done this initially to get things started - presumably there would just be a blank page otherwise.

Regardless, it should be viewed for what it is, another tool in the armoury of those looking for a bargain.

And before anyone mentions it, no I'm not connected with this site.
