Nat West doing monthly credit checks....

Hi can anyone think why the Nat West would be doing monthly credit checks on my husband? (possibly myself except that I'm not registerd with equifax etc).
Each month I get an alert - his rating never changes but it's showing
New Information NATWEST BANK CURRENT ACCOUNTS Current Account XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX102S 0(Up to Date)
Previous Information NATWEST BANK CURRENT ACCOUNTS Current Account XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX102S U(NoPmtDue/Unclassified)
and then they delete them!
We have a current account which is always in credit and although I have a credit card with them my husband doesn't. Is this normal practice and what is it for? Getting my husband to phone them would be like pulling teeth so hopefully you can fill me in :rotfl:

This is just a record that Natwest have provided data to Equifax.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0

Is it like a payment record then? Saying that the accounts are good this month? The HSBC don't do it.0

I have this on my credit report as well. But my Natwest account is usually in the overdraft, so I had just presumed that it was related to the overdraft spend.0

not just an overdraft, but a current account.
I have no overdraft, but have the account payment history on there as you describe. If you go overdrawn with no overdraft, some banks will put a 1 payment late marker on there.:beer:0 -
Banks send information monthly to CRA's.0

Thanks Meer 53 I'll stop worrying about it now!0

Yes I also agree with the above, quite normal.0
