this obviously isn't my thread, but having read through it i'm inspired to try online shopping. i love the supermarket and buy way more than i need, though i am improving!!! i'm gonna give it a try for my next big shop (which if i'm canny may not be til march as the cupboard is full of tins, pulses, pasta, rice etc and there's some meat, fish fingers etc in the freezer. can nip to local shop for veg and milk, will just have to control myself!!

i currently budget £100 a month for food, but there's only me, OH comes down about 2-3 weekends in a month and i always spend a lot more on food then (bacon & egg for breakfast, fajitas, more meat than usual etc). i'd like to get my bill down to £60 if poss as i could have an extra tenner in my weekly spends then :)

If she's given you them great. If they're just on loan before you buy some yourself, do an expirement with a piece of kitchen roll on the bottom of the salad trays. I've been doing this for ages and can't remember the last time I had to throw away stuff cos it had gone soggy.

I'm going to try this :) - any idea *how* it works???

I bought some from Ideal World a few months ago. They absorb the Ethylene gas which ripens veg and eventually destroys it. I submittd a post regarding these "fresh pods" a while ago. If you "google" it- it will come up. Just type in "Ideal world fresh pods".

Hi, no idea:D . I read it somewhere (maybe on here) and gave it a go. After a while the kitchen roll goes moist, so I'm guessing that it just absorbs some excess water  . I always buy bounty or thirst pockets kitchen roll (when on offer) so I don't know if that makes a difference either  . If you buy kitchen roll anyway, it's not going to cost anything to see if this works for you too. :)

If you want to check out the offers on in all of the major supermarkets, try this link. It also shows you how much you are saving, and when the offer ends, so you can see which store has the 3for2s etc:

I use this site all the time, and it helps me decide which supermarket I'm going to go to.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.
