can you cut/alter veil? also a brgain if anyone is after one

I just found an absolute bargain here

this is the same veil the wedding shop wanted me to pay £125 for! The only trouble is that I think it will be too long (I want a long one just not that long) I could not order a custom length because I am no sure how long it will need to be before I try my dress on again.

Can you cut or get a veil altered anywhere? Its classic cut edge so surely as long as I use my fabric shears this will look exactly the same.

It says it can be made shorter at no extra cost...

I'm in the same position that I don't know what length I want my veil to be yet so my mum is making me a full sized one and then once I try it on with my dress and decide she'll alter it at the top where it joins to the comb, then the finished bottom edge stays good.

    I hope that makes sense!

I meant to say - can you not go and have a look at how other veils are finished?

Or try and measure from back of your head to where you want it?

My dress had quite a long train and I want the veil to touch the end of that but can't remember how long it will be one it had been adjusted. I will just try it on with my dress and them ask the lady who is altering my dress what she can do with the veil.
    Thanks for your help X
