Very.co.uk payment help

I ordered something for a friend this evening from Very and notice they don't ask for credit or debit card details. The amount I spent has been put into my account and I guess they will ask me to pay this once the order has been processed. I was hoping to pay by credit card as well as I've ordered an item which is over £100.

I also used a discount code for £30 off my first order, it said this will be credited to either my account or my credit card.

Can anyone tell me, if I make a payment now for the full amount which option should I tick? The options are: Take 3, minimum payment and another payment amount. I'm guessing another payment amount. And do I pay everything including the amount from the discount code. Is that correct?

I would prefer anything they owe me would be credited to my credit card rather than my account, I'm also guessing this would be done once I've entered my card details after ticking one of the Make a Payment options and once the order has been processed. Is that correct?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you for any help receive.

If you have already placed the order and it has gone onto an account then they won't refund the discount to your credit card if you then pay of the balance of your account using it. They will apply the discount to your account. What you are best doing is waiting for your first statement and then paying it, you won't pay any interest and by then all the discounts should be applied and you will pay the correct amount.
  • Thanks Helix, I was hoping I could make a payment now as I didn't really want to be having any credit in my Very account as I don't normally shop there. My main concern was having £30 from the discount voucher left in my account and not knowing whether I'd use it or not. I was informed it would be credited to my account or put onto my credit card once the order is processed, I was think I might have £30 left in my account that might be just sitting there doing nothing if it was credited to my account.

It only goes onto your credit card if you used that to pay to begin with rather than it going on an account. I think the option to pay straight away is only open to people that don't have a good enough credit score for Very to give them an account.

So if you did pay it off now you would end up with £30 sitting in your account like you say.
  • The only thing is, I wasn't prompted to pay by credit card, I was hoping I could.

Never mind, I'll wait to see what happens. I can always give Very a call, if their customer service isn't too problematic that is.

    Hi Lugh-Chronain,

We would advise not to pay the full amount if your discount has not been applied. If you can email us your account details to Network@VeryHQ.co.uk we will be able to check your account and make sure the discount has been applied.

    Many Thanks

    Nicola

  • All payments and discounts appear to be fine.

    Order Discount:

    £-30.00

Sub Total £130.00 Total Discount £-30.00 Delivery £3.95 Total Including Delivery £103.95

My concern isn't whether I have the discount or not, my concern is, as long as there is money sitting in my Very account, as I don't think I'll be using Very again as I don't normally shop there, I may not be able to spend it. So what's the point of it being there, wouldn't it be better on my credit card. In my opinion I think it would be better on my credit card rather than my Very account.

If I have £30 sitting in my account doing nothing then it's no good to me. I was hoping this could be credited on to my credit card. As I wasn't given the option to pay with a credit card it appears to me that this amount won't be credited on to my card. What's the point of having £30 in an account I may never use, £30 that may never be spent as far as I can see. Unless you can resolve this for me and ensure the money from the discount is credited on to my card.

Lugh the discount code you used just takes £30.00 off your order total. So if the item was £130.00 for example when you cam e to pay you will just pay £100.00. The £30 is just taken off and you have less to pay. It won't be a £30 credit left on your account. Once you have the item check your very account and you will be able to pay the balance and the discount will already be off the bill. I have used Very on many occasions and various discount codes but have never been given the discount as a credit always off my balance. I believe also you can only use the discounts if you open a credit account which is why using the code you were not able to pay the balance at the time of purchase. Hope that all makes sense. Very are good and if you have any concerns give them a ring.

    Of course, that makes sense.

Yes, I'll check this next time I log on.

I may give them a call at some point too to off the pay the balance. I was intending to call them anyway though it appears you've cleared up most of my concerns. So hopefully all I'll have to do in the end is pay off the balance.

I think I can recall there being a few options on what types of account to open but still appears odd I was never prompted to pay by credit/debit card. May not be such a big issue after all in the end though.

Incidentally, the item I was talking about in my OP arrived at my friends address earlier than I thought, it arrived yesterday. Actually, they did promise it would arrive by Monday which is very good service indead. Anyway, she said she was very pleased with what she received and said that I'd already made her Christmas, so at least there's one very happy customer in the end.

Yes, and as you say, if I have any further concerns I could always give Very a call.

Thanks a lot jockess, you've cleared up most of the issues I was concerned about!
