EXPIRED Ebuyer - £1 Clearance from Monday @ 11am

To be fair, that usually happens when so many people try to get on a site... When the HP TouchPad were practically given away, every single site that reduced the price crashed almost immediately. There's only so much servers can cope with

saying that they are IT experts, they must take this in account and would have done some load management before 11am today. :rotfl:0 -
Yeah but they're closing down so I suppose increasing server capacity probably isn't high up on their to-do list :rotfl:
Edit: no they're not closing, it's Best Buy who is... Wasn't paying attention.
Looks like ebuyer simply couldn't be bothered to try and ensure that their servers would cope reasonably well then
Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -

Can anybody see anything for £1 yet? A couple of pages open for me, but I have failed to find any £1 items yet.
Just got on, a load of tat!0 -
This promotion has *seriously* backfired for Ebuyer. Its now causing them thousands in lost revenue, plus lots of angry customers on top.0

I can't see how it's costing them thousands in lost revenue. They are NOT selling stuff they have (allegedly) marked down to £1, sure, and yes their systems are down so they can't sell to any ordinary customer. But most non-bargain hunters will try again tomorrow anyway - cos they know what they want and what price ebuyer is selling at. Okay, they may lose a few regular sales today, but those customers will be back next time they're looking for something. Todays online buyers are fickle, they won't bear a grudge next time they're comparing prices.
I'm annoyed cos I've wasted an hour of my time trying to get on (own fault), just to see if there was anything interesting. But next time I need something for our office I'll probably go back and look on their site just as I have done before.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

I'm annoyed at this. Especially as several people have said there was some good stuff on there, like external bluray drives and the one time I did manage to get on, a 24 port network switch for a quid...... We don't get fancy stuff in our IT Dept, so this would have been an ideal situation to pick some of it up......0
