I had the most delicious beef and stout stew at Leon the other day. If you haven’t eaten there before I think they are only in London but the do gorgeous healthy food and the specials are often slow cooked and I want to try this one in my slow cooker once I pick it up this afternoon.
In the stew there was this petit pois sized round dark green bean/lentil I have no idea what it was but it was yummy. It as served with brown basmati rice mixed with sesame, sunflower and pumpkin seeds which I though was a great way to get in some healthy stuff.
So any idea what this mystery lentil is and ideas for recreating this stew would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like mung beans available at Asian Supermarkets and probably ordinary shops (just more expensive) Same ones that grow into your usual beansproutsMy Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

It wasn't green lentils, possibly a mung bean but I remember it being rounder. I've been meaning to buy some mung beans anyway so I'm gonna try it out!
What a fun game!0 -
It sounds like Puy lentils. They are a slate blue/green colour. They are delicious made into a salad with petits pois.
