Hotels

Hi

I was wondering if any1 had any discount codes for hotels in edinburgh? Im looking to go from 12/4 to 15/4. If any1 has any suggestions of where to stay to would be helpful as long as it is central.

Thanks

No discount codes, but try http://www.travelsupermarket.com/ to compare prices on hotels, then once you've narrowed down your choices and found somewhere nice, make a note of the site that's cheapest and see if you can click to it using Quidco for cashback.

I just came back from a trip to Glasgow, and got a hotel via find-rooms.com which was cheapest for what i wanted via the travelsupermarket link, and by using quidco i'm hopefully getting another £9 cashback (tho, it was declined first, but i queried it as it was all done wholly online).

Even without the quidco i saved lots and could afford a place nicer than i'd intended for my stay :j

    Whats your budget?

If you looking for cheap then the Ibis is decent, location is second to none being just off (100m) the royal mile. We stayed there before Xmas and it was clean and tidy. About £70 per night per room.

Depends how fancy you want but there is a travelodge quite conveniently located (Edinburgh Central) - I stayed there recently, one night at £15 and the other at £26.

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W

I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.

    Hope that helps

My friend works for Festival Inns in Edinburgh and although I hate festival Inns they do have a number of hotels of which one is very nice in terms of location and standard. Check out the Hudson Hotel which is located about 20 metres off the west end of Princes Street. It was just opened last year and the rooms are great (if maybe a little small). I was at the Hudson for it's opening night (free drinks and food being a nice benefit of knowing someone who works for them) and have seen the rooms personally but you can check out the review below.

The reason I say this is because they often do great deals on rooms because their primary business is bars and the hotels above it do not get much press. So I know that you can sometimes get rooms for approximately £65 a night which is far cheaper than any other hotel in this location and standard.

Range of very nice hotels from reasonable to How Much?

Costs you a fiver to get the card but every hotel will give you something back whan you stay, The Morrison in Dublin gives you free breakfast (£10 each), the Bell at Skenfrith gives you a bottle of their house champagne (Gosset Grande Reserve ab fab baby!), others give you discount and one even gives you a free kite!

We've done four now and not been disappointed unlike a number of Alastair Sawday's recommendations which he hasn't updated for years!

    Have a fab time!

PS you do get some discount usually if you book through the website but trawl lastminute.com et al and you will still get the freebie when you show your card at reception!
Tips are good, tips are good, you know that tips are good!
