Post Office Pension

Phoned up Royal mail pensions:-
I have just gone over by a few days a two year time limit to
opt out (and have previous payments refunded to me) of a post office pension.

Is there any way i can get the payments returned to me?

I did write a letter to them about 3 months ago asking to opt out, but it either wasn't received or filed.

Any ideas?

  • If you have exceeded 2 years from the date you joined to the date you left then a refund is not possible (this is pension legislation, not Royal Mail policy I'm afraid). You can transfer the benefit built up to another occupational or personal pension scheme willing to accept it.
