Sorry if this has been asked before!
I read on here somewhere (can't find it now!) that it's advisable to arrange insurance before paying any deposits... is that right? We're paying our first deposit on Monday so need to get insurance sorted over the weekend if that is right.
Also, after looking at a few quotes I'm a bit confused. My main issue is the 'cancellation cover' amount. Do we select an amount that would cover the whole wedding budget? Our wedding is going to cost around £8,000 so do we need that as a minimum for the cancellation cover?

Basically the advice with any insurance is to pay as soon as you have anything to lose. And we weren't sure of our budget and took out a policy with a lower cover to start with - once it became obvious we were going over we just upped the policy.
My understanding is that cancellation cover should cover the whole lot. I know a lot of people look at the various components and think their dress won't be that much, their cake will be less, their venue is half that price...but it's what it all adds up to. If for example your florist went bust and didn't deliver, or your photographer didn't show...the individual item covers should be sufficient to cover that. But if you had an accident the week beforehand and had to cancel the whole wedding, then you'd need more cover.0
