Hello,
I am a full-time employee, however every Tuesday i go on a day release to train for my qualification.
I have been reclaiming Mileage however Admin have told me i need to change my insurance so that it covers business use.
Is this a business use?! Also should my work pay for the extra on my insurance? as its covering their end rather than mine??
Thanks
PS I Hope this is the right section as i posted it in Benefits as well as wasnt sure!

If its just travelling ie commuting then no unless your insurnace is just for pleasure and not commuting/pleasure usage or you use it other than getting a-b ie seeing clients for example0

It's business use as you are using your car as part of your paid employment during work time. Adding business use to your existing car insurance frequently doesn't cost any extra anyway, it's just a clause that gets added to the policy. It's often a condition of receiving payment from your employers for mileage.
I've discussed this with friends and none of them pay extra. Give your insurers a ring.0
