Qualifications????

Can anyone help me....I'm getting confused!
My DH is looking for work at the moment. For the last 20+ years he's been a self employed cabinet maker, and he has also done a fair bit of general building work. He's got a sheaf of qualifications prior to all that not least of which is an MA in Fine Art. He's also got A level woodwork and I think two other A levels, a smattering of O levels, plus the Degree (BA) that he got before the MA.
Now.....If a college is looking for teachers for carpentry and cabinet making to a level of C&G what is his level? 2? 3? does anyone know how it works??
Also we've just 'failed' B&Q's online personality test (DUH?) Not extrovert enough and too unconventional - despite the fact that they are looking to fill over 20 vacancies in these parts he could have done standing on his head - and he is only looking for part - time. I didn't stick the MA on the application form as I thought they would have had him down as overqualified.....didn't occur to me that a normal bloke could 'fail' the personality test LOL!
What would you do....put the qualifications on or not??? DH is also 57 so that may be counting against him - they aren't exactly allowed to SAY that though are they!
Your input would be appreciated!
Regards
Kate

Probably because he has one.
City & Guilds equivalent qualifications although I would think you're better off contacting the college directly and enquiring.0 -
Thanks for that Smashing....that's exactly what I needed....

good luck with your search katieowl. B&Q don't know what they're missing. I too fell foul of a personality test that highlighted me as being someone who would spend too much time going through the details and not being decisive. It was a research job.0
