So after having a pretty good money saving weekend (only spent £30 on Friday night out with the girls, nothing else all weekend and made a free lunch in town from my younger brother, and free dinner on saturday from parents - god bless family) I have decided each week I need a plan of action to keep me motivated. This week will be pretty hard as I am away in licolnshire talking at a conference for a few days, got the slot after lunch as well so going to struggle to keep the agricultural folk awake- friends have suggested showing some leg and clevage - not really the professional look I am going for......
So Week 1:- Do signature on MSF, stating how much I owe and to who
- Re-do my SOA so I can see where I can save money.
- Do not spend any money on groceries for yourself (apart from milk)
- Sort out working at Ascot 18/19th December
- List 10 items on ebay
- Sort through a box of "cr*p" in my house
- Call up several local pubs to see if they need staff for christmas or new year shifts
- Do 1 Mystery shop
- Look into selling my car
- Start seriously on Jamie parties - email everyone I know!! and get people coming over for the launch on friday.
- I have 2 christmas fayres on the weekend - need to make stuff for those
- Do PhD
Off to the post office now, sold quite a few items on ebay over the weekend, will let you know the profit (that is going straight onto the credit card) once I have worked out all the fees...0 -
Not going to lie - this week has been pants so far!! And... Ive just written off my car- Dont worry Im okay, just the gear box has gone and it will cost over half the price of the car to fix - just not worth it. Thank god for car breakdown cover. A few weeks ago I called up about cancelling it as thought I would get a bit of money - well they offered me £37 back, but then a £20 admin fee, for £17 I thought I would keep it over the winter... so glad I did. The tow home was over 2 1/2 hours....
So knackered and have come home to a cold shower and a missing kitten.... the joys of sharing a house with 3 tw*tish lads!!
Tomorrow is the 1st so a fresh start.... Always an optimist... I can do this!0 -
Well I checked my bank balance - £2500 paid in by the uni... because they realised they had underpayed me! and got home to a tax rebate -£747.40 AND I have made PROFIT from ebay £329.26.....
There is a silver lining! 2 credit cards paid off, no worries about not being able to pay rent and am going to knock a bit off my main loan.
I AM HAPPY!! Now I just want to focus on paying of the rest at a steady and sustainable rate and get this PhD done. Going to see what I can do about this car being broken malarky and sell it on, hope to get £1800 which I can but 800 towards paying off loans and tthe rest to buy a run around.0 -
