Keratase shampoo

Im giving up on th! id!a of GHDs after seeing reviews on th! internet about how they wreck your haïr so i am thinking of investing in a good shampoo and treating my haïr gently. I am so f!d up of my haïr looking weak and pouffy but dont want to make it worse with GHDs. Does anyone think Keratase is worth th! money. Ive heard its great but again I dont want to pay for something that may not work.

Waste of money. Went through the Kerastase phase years ago.

When my hairdresser went mobile I started using Herbal Essence or something.Supermarket stuff...dirt cheap. There wasn't any difference.

However what I would recommend is argan oil. I have noticed a big difference with that.

Worked very well on my hair, very expensive though.
  • Thanks for your replies. Which shampoo is best for keeping hair healthy that doesn't cost the earth? I also have a sensitive scalp so I think Herbal Essences will be too perfumed for me. I do use Simple shampoo but I think my hair is getting used to it now.

I still think that maybe GHDs are not a good idea on baby fine broken hair?
  • I wasn't that keen on Kerastase, prefer Redken, Joico or Tigi Bedhead.

Everyone's hair is different and also I find that even when you find something that suits it helps to change once in a while.

I would say if you are not using 'salon' products already that you don't need to go as pricey as Kerastase straight away. Why not try something from the Tigi bedhead range? There are loads of websites that sell all the big names and give good descriptions on what each shampoo, conditioner, treatment etc. does and what kind of hair it's good for. Have a look at Look Fantastic, Fabriah, HQ Hair etc.

You could also pop into salons and ask them if they've got any samples of their products.

I agree with this:) also I would add Ojon to the list, Redken is my favourite though, keep an eye on the grabbit board for deals but be warned its seriously addictive;):)
Thank you for this site Martin

    Good luck for the future
  • See I didn't really like the Ojon shampoo but I like the oil stuff :-)

what do you do with this (i.e. use on dry hair, use after shampooing, between shampoos?) and how often do you use it?

I apply it the same as i used to use JF's Frizz Ease serum - so, mostly to the lengths/ends of my hair whilst it's still damp (after shampooing and conditioning as normal), and before drying it either with a hairdryer or leaving it to dry naturally if i have the time. Once it's dried i might smooth a bit more onto the ends if i think they need it.

(I'm currently using "Argan Oil Hair Treatment" in the brown plastic bottle with gold writing £12.99 from Boots, £9.99 from Superdrug it's on offer at the moment so now £7.49 from Superdrug)
