rottisserie question

Options
I'd just like to ask a quick question if I may?!
I bought a rottisserie from a car boot sale the other day and it is lovely they only problem I have is that it stinks of smoke!
does any one have any ideas of how to rid an appliance of the smell of smoke?
thankyou for any replies.

Bowl of hot soapy water with a capful of bleach and wipe and scrub whatever surfaces you can... do this a few times.

I'd imagine after a few uses the smell will really start to fade - and I'd be pretty sure the smell won't transfer to the food... but before you go cooking a £15 joint of beef on it, I'd try a nice cheap chicken first to be on the safe side!
