Soup Help.....please!

I want to make some soup today (I am not feeling very well
and don't have a huge amount in the cupboards but need to get some veggies used up before they go over:eek: )
I have
Brocolli
Parsnips
Carrots
Mushrooms
Spring Onions
Celery
Normally I just throw in the pot and hope for the best, but I think this turn into a disaster if I put the above in and it will look like a big multicoloured disgusting mess.
Any Ideas.... (I am going to pop out soon and get some onions any way so any advice on what else I could get would be appreciated)
Thank you

it should all be ok but dont put the mushrooms in as they will make it go an unpleasent colour. i would also suggest a tate or two, mashed and mixed in, or cooked and put in the blender with the rest as this will give it a good base.
if you are not being too healthy, a dash of left over cream, or a knob of butter will make it a bit richer.0 -
I agree with johnlincoln, leave out the mushrooms.
I'd put some butter in a pan add all the veg apart from the broccoli. Add some garlic and black pepper then sweat the veg (cook over a very low heat) for about 20 minutes. Next add some basil, the broccoli, stock and a tin of tomatoes and you'll have a delicious minestrone.
