Blogs and websites

Hi all,I remember from when I was about to get hitched and used this board a lot, there was a thread about people's blogs on here and there were some really interesting links. I can't seem to find it though! I run a blog and would quite like to add some more people into the Links section so please show me yours :D

Are you looking for blogs to link to yours? I'd love to help but don't have one - I would love to start one but haven't a clue how!

  • No no, I'm looking for blogs that I can read, find interesting and link to FROM my blog, to say, 'These women are great - read their stuff!'

Would your blog be a wedding blog? If you like, I can help you out with it :)
  • Its actually against MSE rules to post your own, or a friend's, blog or website hence you won't find a list here.

Got a blog but it isn't a wedding one. Think the link is in my profile :) Mine's arty, crafty and book reviews with the odd (as in random not weird... although they are sometimes weird) giveaway thrown in.

Megan, go to https://www.blogger.com and click on create blog or start blog or whatever it says. It's dead easy - believe me if I can do it anyone can. They walk you through it and the fancy backgrounds you see are usually free and really easy to install. Mine was free.

eta: Sorry Edinburgh lass, your post wasn't there when I posted. Please remove my post if I shouldn't link to blogger :)
:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin
  • Ah, ok, sorry! Well, if anyone wants to PM me theirs, I would be more than happy to read it :)

It might be against the rules (I personally don't think it should be though), but I definitely remember seeing some on a few other threads. If I can remember where they were I'll Pm you! :)
  • I'm all for sticking to the rules, but does this really apply here?

The rule banning links to blogs is listed under the section 'Companies Posting/Info', which would suggest this applies to commercial-related blogs. I can't see how us recommending a blogspot/Wordpress site with a bride's personal experience goes against Martin's rules...

PS I'd also be interesting in any good wedding blog links!
  • I agree - can't we make an exception just this once? It's not like we'd be promoting anything for financial gain!

Whilst the majority of us wouldn't be - it would leave it open to people advertising their talents. For example if I was a cupcake maker planning my own wedding I would write about my fabulous cupcakes. I'd share piccies of them. And sure as sure eventually people would ask me about them. That'd then leave it open for me to start selling them.

I agree it is pants - that the few spoil it for the majority - but I can see why the rules are rules. They are there to protect us.

What if I wasn't a cupcake maker planning my own wedding. What if I was someone setting up a scam to get peoples details. Etc.
