Get paid 2p above the FIT generation tariff

Hi All,
Long time reader but first time poster on MSE, so please be gentle.
I've heard that a company called Utility Warehouse will pay 2p per kwh more than the generation tariff.
I've had a look at their website but couldn't find any details of this. I cant see how/why they can pay over the odds, so my thinking is that there must be catch, somehow it doesn't seem right to me.
Has anyone heard of this? Has anyone even heard of Utility Warehouse? I've never heard of them myself.

Try posting again on the Utility Warehouse thread..... https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/387161
Quick answer...you need to be a member of UW and take 1 service and that will cost you at least £1.50 per month.
https://www.telecomplus.co.uk/extranet/FITinfo.pdf:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Thanks for the quick reply - I didn't realise they were also called telecom plus. I've had a quick look at the other thread but its massive with hundreds of pages and just seems to be full of arguements. I was hoping someone could comment specifically about the FITs.
I've had a quick read of the PDF, it says something about the FIT payments being credited to your UW bill?0 -
Just seen that they only accept up to 4kw systems, we have a 10kw system so not applicable for us anyway. Thanks for your help HappyMJ.

FarmerBoy - I knew that it's not applicable to you now, but we have our FITs with Utility Warehouse. They pay an extra 2p/kWh on the export tariff (which is usually 3p/kWh) if you have the FIT payments added to your account rather than getting a cheque in the post - I guess that helps with their cash flow or administration costs or something, and therefore are able to pass on this extra. TBH you don't get a lot from the export tariff anyway, so not really significant.0

Are you sure it is just on the export tariff and not the total kWh generated?
Plus! We will pay you an extra 2p per kWh on top of the standard FIT Generation Payment. That’s a bonus of about £45 a year for a typical household – and it’s guaranteed for three years!£45 @2p/kWh = 2,250kWh and that is not the typical exported figure.
The downside of course is you have to take your electricity from Utility Warehouse who are very expensive0 -

Hi Cardew - yes, you're absolutely right, it's on the total generated amount not the export tariff. Thanks for correcting that0
