    Jim while as a professional I respect your opinion in theory.You do have a point . However countless chatty style interviews I have attended afford you no way of selling yourself, often no opportunity to ask questions (yes the interviewers are THAT poor) no way to twist questions they ask, no way to mention your skills and previous experiences. One often has to wonder if the interviewers (who I do sympathise with as it may have been thrust upon them)have ever attended an interview themselves nor have put in any thought to what they need to ask etc to get the best candidate for job.

    That makes sense to me - my answer is a theoretical one, and i appreciate that in some circumstances it may be nigh on impossible to twist an interview in your direction. Many interviewers are untrained and it can be hard to know what they are even looking for. We interviewed once a few years ago in my team and one individual did an interview that lasted ten minutes, it was clear she hadn't got the ability to really delve into what she needed to ask
