I'd be tempted to make it in such a way that when she opened it they end up spilling all over the floor haha!

Hmm 2 lottery tickets, maybe...I could fill my details in on the back before I give them to her...just incase ;)

  • What about a jar of nothing. You print a label with the words The Jar of Nothing Did you say NOTHING when you were asked what you wanted for Christmas?
Dont you remember saying NOTHING? Well this time someone heard you
    Searched high and low
and found this perfect gift for you.

    Hope it helps x

Jar of new year resolutions (you could print some off the internet and use old coffee jar with ribbon round it)

Charity shops always good places for cheap things -someone's unwanted pressies -stuff like that.

Friend of mine and her OH one year allowed themselves £1 to spend on each other and a prize for the one who got the most things (one brillo pad, stuff like that) She won..........no real prize just the thrill of beating her OH..............lol

    Good luck:)

Love the idea of this thread. To me it's not the value of a pressie it's the thought that went into it. Would far rather have a daft pressie such as "who can buy the mos things for a pound" than £20 voucher

I don't want gifts partly cos I can't afford to buy them for others but also because there isn't actually anything I 'need'. I told my family at first that if they're that insistent on buying a gift then I would rather they bought things for an animal shelter and donated it - toys, food, bedding etc. I don't need anything!

But I do like the £2 idea as it is fun and more thought has to go into it as opposed to buying an 'expensive' gift :)

I saw a bit of Big Brother this year where one of the housemates spent all of their shopping budget on bananas and food colouring - the quantity of it looked ridiculous. I'm trying to think if there is anything that costs pennies that you could fill a box with - especially if it was something that cost 2p an item but took up a reasonable amount of space. That way you could give her a large box, but when she opened it it was full of 100 polystyrene balls or 100 marshmallows or the like. I can't think of anything that would really be suitable though. It seems a waste to get something completely useless. You just want something that will look funny, and will take her a few years to use up ;) Maybe you could get a couple of packs of wooden pegs from poundland, and then write a fortune cookie type message/ny resolution on each of them, and then wrap each one seperately.

You could get a huge box, then put a smaller box inside, then a smaller box, etc etc, and then in the centre box each item is individually wrapped.

What about making something hideous out of a washing up liquid bottle & cornflake box, just like Blue Peter used to :rotfl:
  • A Picture of you and your sister when you were children. Might be able to get a cheap frame or make one for under £2.
A letter saying how much she means to you.

    I don't live near an Ikea :)

I like the idea of the photo of me and my sister, I have a photo of me and both my sisters when we were younger sat in the garden eating icecream and I love it so I might get a plain wooden frame and decorate it with things she likes :D
