It may seem extreme but it's a manageable amount, using the upper most repayments we've seen online as a template to the most we'd have to pay P/m. As for why, it might seem a little strange and risky but our friendship is close and there's a strong mutual trust. The loan would benefit us both, besides. I would get as much benefit from the car or near enough.
That's my mind made up, its a case of simple naivety. Good luck young man.

Of course I'm naive, why do you think I posted this thread in the first place? I know little about these things, there is no need to be derogatory.

I love how the little pic on the left under my name is ignored.

The thing is, we can manage without the loan along as my housemate can get some sort of car finance. As I said earlier, we are both financially independent and both stable, eve if I did have a brief time of problems.

basically no job = no loan = no car

Well you tell me how we're supposed to get to school then back twice a day and actually get out of where we live with no buses, period. The nearest town is 8 odd miles away. That's exactly one of the contingencies that carers allowance and DLA account for so although I don't disagree in some instances where people claim benefits they're not entitled to, we get what's due. The morality of benefits is truly a red elephant.

I dont know how people do the school run when they dont have a car but people must do it somehow, well you can move somewhere else thats on a bus route or close to a school. For work is there not a pubyou can easily get to to see if theres any work there or any stables requiring stable hands.

little about what things ? how loans work or the fact you cant get a loan without a job ?

A bit of both I suppose.

Anyway, after the sensible and much appreciated advice from the users here, we have decided atleast for the moment not to apply for anything.

This I'm sure will seem like the best choice to all of you and we both atleast agree it needs further thought at the very least. We will find some other source to get the car and maybe look at the loan for the other issues or some other solution later down the road.

Thanks to everyone, even those who live part time under bridges.
