Gifts for parents and in-laws

Hi all,
Since all the replies to the thread about Gift for Groom from Bride were so helpful........!
I am currently buying thank you gifts. We are mostly thanking women, and I found some brilliant Buckingham necklaces in Debenhams at the weekend, less than half price, so bought 8
That covers my mother plus all our witnesses, readers and generally lovely helpers.
I'm going to buy my brother and two cousins, who will be ushing, some nice cufflinks I think.
That leaves me to find gifts for my parents in law, and my dad and stepmother. Both couples have generously contributed to the wedding costs. The budget is probably around £20-£30 per couple, if I can get a bargain.
Any ideas?!?!

A picture of you two? A nice plant with some connection to your wedding - ie a rose with a suitable name? Or a tree if they have a garden? A bottle of champagne - just stick a label over with your wedding details and a 'Thank You' on?

Oooh, I love the tree/rose idea! Even if we handmade a voucher and said we'd visit to plant one in the spring...0

There are loads of roses with wedding related names. In fact, you might even be able to get the names of your recipients or the place where you are getting married. Try somewhere like David Austin for roses.

That's a reall superb idea, and thanks for the link. I've picked out about five roses that I think would fit the bill!
My father and stepmother don't have a garden and are teetotal (they are fun and fun loving in other ways though!!), so more ideas would be welcome
Thanks all!0 -
Your getting married on my OH birthday

Sorry I don't have any ideas as I'm struggling for ideas myself
I'm not sure how were going to arrange presents for our parents, is it traditional to buy flowers for each couple? My parents have generously paid for half our wedding but OH parents are both disabled and in debt so can't help in any way. I want to try and get my parents something extra as a special thank you but don't want to do it infront of everyone or OH parents cause I don't want them to feel bad. Bit tricky lol

You could always give over a token gift to both sets of parents at the wedding after the speeches if thats when you are handing out presents...like a bouquet of flowers or a handwritten/handmade/personalised card with a private personal thank you to them both from you both...that way it will appear to your guests that each received the same
If you then choose to give an additional present to your parents then you can do that seperately either before or after the wedding...
We actually gave our gifts privately the next morning...not because they were secretive but because they were being used during the wedding...we had 4 bay trees in pots that were first used at the church and then taken and used at the reception venue..1 was given to each set of parents 1 to the remaining grandparent and we kept one ourselves...so we were able to transfer some of our "decoration" into gifts.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Great idea LEJC - what else would you do with 4 bay trees?!
OP - try looking on 'Not on the High srtte' for some inspiration. There are lots of personalised gifts on there which should help.
Jewellery fan - I bet your parents aren't expecting more. You could always give them a print from your wedding or something afterwards as a token of your appreciation? Or even a photobook?

I love making photobooks and as we are making our own wedding album I might make a smaller one for them as I would probably make one for them anyway for them to keep so that could double as an extra present. I've made quite a few free photobooks in the past using discount codes and just paying postage so that might worksugarwalsh wrote: »Great idea LEJC - what else would you do with 4 bay trees?!
